It is a perfect base for fly fishing for trout in the Oreti, Mataura, Waikaia and Nevis Rivers and many others. It is also very comfortable holiday accommodation for families or friends who are travelling in Southland and interested in the many sporting, sightseeing and adventure pursuits offered in this beautiful part of New Zealand. All bedrooms have large windows with garden views.
Bedroom 1 - A super king bed ( this bed can be split into two long single beds).
Bedroom 2 - One queen bed.
Bedroom 3 - The iconic window that represents the Oreti River House emblem, sets off the end wall of this small bedroom which has 1 long single bed.
A cot and high chair are available if required.
Main Bathroom - Separate deep bath, cubicle shower with rainfall fitting, heated floor, heated towel rail, basin and toilet.
Second Bathroom - cubicle shower with massaging shower head, heated towel rail, wall heater, basin and toilet.
A washing machine, clothes dryer and large laundry tub are tucked away on the side of bathroom 2.
A large granite island bench provides a convenient breakfast bar and a great place to chat while preparing meals in the fully equipped modern kitchen. The fittings include fridge/freezer/icemaker, microwave, glass top stove, oven and dishwasher..
An oak dining table comfortably seats 6 guests under the eclectic antler chandelier.
A large dining table is also situated under the pergola to enjoy dining outdoors during the long summer evenings.
A river stone gas fireplace provides the center piece for guests to relax and enjoy views of the garden or settle back and watch SKY TV or a DVD.
The room seats 5 adults and contains a DVD library with fly fishing and general entertainment titles.
Carparking - Undercover parking is available for 2 cars. A wide open car park at the rear of the property, provides space for boats, trailer vans and larger vehicles.
Storage - A lockable storage shed is available near to the back door of the kitchen which can hold 4 bicycles or be used to house golf clubs and fishing equipment.
Pergola - A spacious pergola above a large dining table with bench seats and gas BBQ provides an ideal setting to compare notes following a full day outdoors.
Fire Pit - A large iron fire pit, surrounded by macrocarpa slab benches, is set within the landscaped gardens and can be enjoyed in the long summer evenings typical of the South Island of New Zealand.
Lawns - The spacious lawn areas can be used for bird watching, fly casting practice or a game of Boules, Badmington or Croquet.
